FAQ
Why is there cane sugar in Zija?

There has been a great deal of confusion about the nutritional effects of cane sugar and it is a good time to sort these out.   Sugar cane is a form of grass that belongs to Poaceae family.  Since it is the source of refined sugar, the taste is comparable to the evil cohort, refined sugar,  so that you will not need to make any significant adjustments to your tastes and flavor preferences when you begin using it. The most effective variety of Moringa oleifera has such a foul taste that it was necessary to use some cane sugar to overcome this stigma.  Cane sugar also contains nutrients that refined sugar lacks, and it is free from some of the chemical contaminants that can get into sugar during the refining process but primarily unrefined cane sugar is used to enhance osmotic absorption of the nutrients that are combined with it.

    Advantages Over Refined Sugar

While one of the negative aspects of refined, or white sugar, is empty calories, there are several more.  When nutritionists refer to eliminating the 'whites' from your diet, they refer to refined sugar, bleached flour and white rice, all having had their nutritional value reduced or eliminated during processing.  Refined sugar acts only as a sweetener without providing any nutritional value. It is composed solely of carbohydrates and has been linked to a number health problems that plague our society, which include diabetes, obesity and other conditions related to a blood sugar imbalance. Cane sugar contains trace minerals and nutrients that have been from refined sugar. The chemicals used to refine white sugar include phosphoric acid, sulfur dioxide and formic acid; but these chemicals are not present in sugar cane and unrefined sugars made from natural cane.
